Attic House checks into Mandarin Oriental, as part of its business expansion

Kuala Lumpur, 19 December 2021 – Marking another milestone since its inception, Attic House set foot in the heart of Kuala Lumpur with two uniquely designed boutiques in the city’s luxury hotel; Mandarin Oriental. Attic House is a local brand, making their marks in the affluent city of Kuala Lumpur, bringing you the upper echelon of pre-loved luxury bags and timepieces.

Attic House is a proud pioneer in the pre-loved luxury industry. As it reminisces its humble background, starting off in 2005 with only 21 bags on its shelves in a 1,000 square feet retail shop in Plaza Damas, Attic House is now one of the few retailers in Malaysia who is capable of sourcing the most exclusive pieces from brands such as Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Its fair share of experience have gained it an unrivalled reputation as today, Attic House is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious and credible retailer in the sea of second hand luxury retailers.

“I believe that this is going to be the start of something special not only for the luxury pre-loved  industry but the pre-loved industry as a whole” commented the Managing Director of Attic House, Mr. Ong. He has been a key personnel in exploring and diversifying the group’s businesses and is always on the lookout for exciting opportunities and new sales channels. This collaboration will certainly be an eye opener for consumers to gain a different perspective into the pre-loved industry and to propel the group to greater heights. The consumers’ renewed perspectives are especially important to the luxury pre-loved industry as the luxury crowd often has the tendency to associate luxury to the idea of purchasing straight from the flagship stores.

In the past, people often shy away from used goods as the idea of buying pre-loved luxury products seems to indicate lower purchasing power but that had undergone a massive shift over the past decade. Previously, some of the major concerns for consumers when shopping for pre-loved products were the unpleasant after-sale services and doubts over the products’ authenticity (Alam, 2014). Attic House quickly realized these issues and have now addressed them in their business model. Every product sold through Attic House has undergone a rigorous process of authentication and each product is given warranty up to a year. Having a physical store and a team of approachable customer service personnel's have also certainly built its clientele. At Attic House, we believe that it is more important to leave a good impression than just making sales.
